One Line Story #20

We are still under the cover of smoke here in the southern Yukon. Not so bad that it’s blocking out the sun, although that does happen when the smoke is thick enough, and I have photos from two summers ago of just that. Maybe I’ll share one at some point for anyone who might not believe that it gets that bad.

That smoke has been present since Saturday afternoon, and has barely lifted since. It feels like it won’t go away for a while, because we’ve had even more forest fires start since Saturday. Several a day, in fact. It’s another one of those bittersweet summers when it’s amazingly warm and sunny, but it comes with the downside of the fires this place is seemingly plagued with.
