21 Things to Write About

Another list of things! This one is for inspiration. As a writer, sometimes it’s hard to think of things to write about. It doesn’t matter how well you write, or how many story ideas or plot bunnies you usually have. Sometimes when you was to write, there’s nothing to write about. That’s what this list is for. I’ve taken some time to write up a list of topics for you to write about. And for me to write about. I may end up using some of these as well.

  1. Write about your earliest memory.
  2. Write a letter to your past self.
  3. Write a letter to your best friend.
  4. Write a journal entry describing something you could never tell anyone – a secret!
  5. Write a short character description about yourself.
  6. Write a blog post about things you regret.
  7. Write up a short synopsis for a book (just a random idea in your head, maybe something that’s been gnawing at you for a while), even if it’s it’s a book you’ll never write.
  8. Write a review for your favourite book.
  9. Write a review for your favourite movie.
  10. Outline your plans for the future – maybe some upcoming things you’ve got planned for your blog?
  11. Write a how-to post for your blog.
  12. Write a list of things most people won’t know about you.
  13. Tell a story about yourself that you find embarrassing.
  14. Put together your personal bucket list.
  15. Compile a list of your favourite books.
  16. Write a list of your favourite films.
  17. Write a list of your favourite pastimes.
  18. Write about something you regret not doing (something you were too scared to do, or maybe an opportunity you didn’t take).
  19. Write about an experience you have had that you can’t explain.
  20. Write the eulogy you’d like to have read at your funeral.
  21. Write a “day in the life” journal entry which outlines everything you do in a typical day.

I may be doing up an entirely different one from this sometime soon, so watch for it. I’ve got plenty of other ideas, just not enough time to get them all written out at this moment. Consider this your sneak peek at the full list. πŸ˜‰

This was really helpful! Thanks millions πŸ™‚ I’ll be posting some of these when I get the time, thanks again! Please, please, please keep doing these ❀ I've got an idea that might help too: describe a scene that you want to happen in your future (perhaps you picture yourself going to the beach with your future grandchildren, or attending a concert)
