Flash Fiction Challenge (26.12.15)

So it’s been a long week, and for a lot of people, the holiday season is just about over. I am going to juice it for a little bit longer for this week’s challenge, though. This week I want you to focus on New Year’s Eve. I want you to write a short story that takes place in the ten seconds before the clock rolls over. That’s right, ten seconds. I want you to tell it in slow motion, as everything is happening around your main character. Focus on the details, the emotions and sensations, the sounds and sights, and tell me what’s happening right up until the clock strikes 12.

You have 1,000 words to tell me all about it, and obviously it doesn’t have to be real life events for  you.

You have until noon (PST) on Friday, January 1st

Write the story and post it on your blog, website, whatever you use to share your writing online and comment with a link to it here on this post so that everyone can find it. This is also open to anyone who wants to create a poem rather than a story. So if you’re more a poet than a storyteller, feel free to join in as well.

Go write an awesome entry and get back here with your link!
